Waiting in Newark for the train to lurch forward and carry me and others to points west. Train stations and airports, hubs of activity, snapshots of life, or more precisely, of the moments between life. Nobody lives at the train station. People may work there, but their lives are somewhere else.
I'm on one of the double-decker trains. One level sits close to the rails. The other, stacked neatly above. The lower level provides an interesting vantage point.
