Peering through a dirty window
Within the span of a day we ride from the scenic and touristy part of the Maine coast northward, to the part of the Maine coast on the periphery of tourism's nets. Little towns like Stonington struggle to cling to old fishing traditions, and while the area is showing the first signs of tourism - a small hotel, a couple of restaurants, a gift shop, and an espresso bar (11am-4:30pm, seasonal), it feels like what I imagine it felt like 100 years ago. Good luck, Stonington, in clinging to your way.
A little building in Stonington, ME.
