You would think that in a creative field/hobby/avocation that thinking outside of the proverbial box would be encouraged and celebrated. Yet in photography - at least among the online circles that I belong to - that sentiment is neither unanimous or ubiquitous. After all, we idolize the photographers that came before us - the HCBs and the Kerteszes and the like - that pioneered the medium and pushed and prodded it into new dimensions. Yet many still abide by the unwritten dictum, "A camera must be black." Some push their own padded envelopes and say, "A camera must be black, or maybe even a shade of grey."
