Ok, so this isn't terribly exciting. What is interesting is that I took photos of the bananas with the Panasonic GH2 and Pentax K20d at similar settings - ISO 400 and ~40mm. I had the 20mm F1.7 on the Panasonic and the DA*16-50 F2.8 on the Pentax.
To create similar depths of field, I varied the aperture between the two systems, the GH2 using F1.8 and 1/50 and the K20d using F2.8 and 1/20, aided, no doubt, by image stabilization built into the body.
The Panasonic bananas look more appealing, more tempting to pick up and peel. The table and tablecloth are also richer and more saturated. But here's the thing, the Pentax bananas are what the real world looked like, with overcast light streaming in through distant windows. Look for them in the next post.
